Greg Metzler
Gregory Metzler has been an active musician and educator in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area for the past twenty years. After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Viola Performance from Towson University, he has pursued a multi-faceted career in education, conducting, and performance. Mr. Metzler has been a Strings Specialist in Anne Arundel County Public Schools for several years. A Masters Degree in Education was earned from Gratz College. He has been a conductor for the Maryland Youth Symphony Orchestra, The Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra, and most recently served as the Music Director of the Hunt Valley Symphony. He has also conducted school-based orchestras, festivals, and music camps in the greater Baltimore area. Mr. Metzler has also been active as a church musician, playing piano and organ and directing choirs in the Greater Baltimore area. Mr. Metzler is excited to be joining the Chesapeake Youth Symphony staff and is looking forward to bringing his musical experience to further the musical endeavors of this group of students.
